Donation to The Simon Community

posted 21 May 2018, 07:13 by web master

The boys in 6th class presented a cheque to The Simon Community today for €1000. The boys donated some of the money they had received for their Confirmation. The funds raised by the boys was then very kindly matched by the local Bank of Ireland in Marino and we thank them most sincerely for their continued support. The school Board of Management also donated funds to the cause and their support is also greatly appreciated.
The children in 5th and 6th class received a visit from two members of the charity and learned where their money will be going and what they can do in the future to further support charities such as The Simon Community.
Well done to all involved.

Science Fair

The boys in 6th class in Room 13 held a Science Fair on Wednesday 16th May. It was a great success and each of the classes were invited to visit the Art Room on the day and view the experiments on display. There were a great variety of projects, ranging from, Making a lava lamp to mirror writing and walking water. The boys in Room 13 are to be commended on the great effort they put in and the excellent manner in which they presented their projects.

posted 25 Apr 2018, 05:00 by web master

On Monday, third class were fortunate to get a tour of Amazon's head office to celebrate Tech Week.

After a series of activities and learning about data centres and the cloud, the boys were treated to a demonstration of Artifical Intelligence and Voice Recognition from a past pupil of the school, Neil. Thanks to Ciara O Connor for organising the day for the boys.
